Museum Gift Shop

Many novel gift items are available at normal prices. There are books containing Montgomery County and Texas history for adult and student reading. A variety of local cookbooks are also available. Among the books for sale are:

• "Montgomery County: Pictures Of A Dream Coming True" — This pictorial history of the County chronicles our history beginning with the colonization under Stephen F. Austin and continuing until World War II. In its chapters, the book describes why people wanted to come here, where they came from, and how they created such a rich heritage for all of us. Photos and text cover how they worked, worshipped, played, etc. The book contains over 300 photos, making it an ideal gift for anyone who has ties to Montgomery County or to the past. Margaret Ann Simpson, daughter of "Mac" McCullough, is a retired English Professor who returned to her hometown of Conroe about eight years ago. She quickly became involved in many community projects and organizations, one being the Board of Heritage Museum. Her quick wit and her love of people become clear as you read the captions and the narrative of this book. She will be happy to autograph your copy!
